My Story

I’m Ed, an exited founder, ex-CTO / VP Eng and multi-time Director for a number of different startups. For the past few years I’ve been acting as an independent mentor and leader.

I’ve suffered my fair share of imposter syndrome and overwhelm. Over time, I bootstrapped management and leadership practices right for growing teams under pressure.

I’ve come to find that my greatest sense of satisfaction comes from helping others to navigate those same rapids.

Am I right for you?

I’m not right for everyone, ultimately it comes down to the nature of challenges you’re facing and the style that suits you. The easiest way to find out is to have a quick intro call, so I can properly introduce myself, learn what you hope to achieve through coaching and provide an associated plan.

Who I usually work with:

As an up front steer, I would say my ‘sweet spot’ is individuals establishing in management or executive roles (Head of Eng / VP / CTO) in small-to-medium sized engineering teams (5 → 50 engineers). That is where I have spent the majority of my career as an executive and feel most confident I have real impact in a short space of time.

How I tend to work:

Style-wise, I’ll admit I’ve never really got on with the ‘traditional’ coaching approach. I tend to act more as a mentor than a coach, which is why I specialise in supporting those who are facing challenges I myself have dealt with. If typical coaching isn’t working out for you, my style might be a better fit.

Don’t fit that mould exactly? No problem, let’s just get on a call and see how I can help.
